Prajnopaya Foundation

The Prajnopaya Foundation is a NGO based in the United States and India that implements innovative community-based projects to improve access to health care in poor communities. Prajnopaya’s TB programs have served close to 600 patients in the Nalanda and Vaishali districts in Bihar, India.

Operation ASHA

Operation ASHA is the largest TB treatment non-profit in Delhi, with 34 treatment centers and over 1100 patients, and serves some of Delhi’s poorest, slum-dwelling communities. ASHA has focused on reducing patient’s travel burden, and introduced highly trained counselors who ensure continued adherence, and improve detection rates.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

IIH was founded by students and alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and supported by several programs including the Public Service Center, Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Development-Lab (D-Lab), International Development Initiative and the Legatum Center. IIH’s ties to MIT remain strong, enabling it to leverage expertise in technology, public service, social entrepreneurship, economics and policy.

Microsoft Research

IIH has collaborated with Microsoft Research, India to pilot a fingerprint authentication system for use in TB treatment programs.

Birla Institute of Technology

BIT is one of India’s leading technical universities, and its sister institution, the Birla Institute of Scientific Research, has run a successful mobile medical treatment program which has served more than 100,000 patients in remote communities in Uttaranchal. BIT, Prajnopaya, and IIH are currently establishing a permanent program at the Patna campus to build local capacity for developing technology used in TB programs.
